Med+ Helix Radial Closure Device

1. Preparation Twist turn cap clockwise 2 complete turns (see blue dot on top of turn cap)
2. After the procedure - withdraw the sheath by 2-3cm and confirm no vasospasm is evident. If vasospasm is evident then treat appropriately.
3. Align centre of cushion 5mm behind puncture site and apply to patient

CAUTION: The device must be positioned differently when in use on the left or right hand. When attaching the device, ensure that the bottom of "M+" logo on the wrist plate is closest to the patient's little finger.
4. Insert band into slot on wrist plate, affix Velcro strap firmly behind the wrist, ensuring the strap is taut.
5. Make several clockwise rotations of turn cap until adequate pressure is applied to allow for haemostasis. Pressure indicators are as follows and visible as indicated through slots in the screw column:

GREEN = pressure is 150mmHg-200mgHg.
YELLOW = pressure is 200mmHg-250mgHg.
6. Remove the sheath and confirm there is no bleeding from the puncture site. Make sure a radial pulse is evident after achieving haemostasis.

WARNING:
If bleeding is observed, compress by clockwise rotation until it stops.
If patient feels numbness and pain, decompress by counter clockwise rotation, ensure bleeding is not observed at puncture site.
Check pulsation of radial artery and ulnar artery after above process and ensure the radial remains palpable with ulnar occlusion (test with plethysmography if available).
